This course looks at the relationship between Israelis and American Jews through historical perspectives. Alongside episodes of collaboration and identification, the world’s largest two communities experienced also patterns of cultural differences and outright rivalry. We will look at all that in order to understand whether those differences were due to religion and politics, or if there are deeper reasons at play.
