The course will be taught in Hebrew and is intended for students who have changed to Hebrew as a second language and have previously studied Hebrew at a high level or have lived in Israel and are interested in learning the language, to discuss any topic freely.
The sessions are held once a week for 60 minutes and will focus on learning Hebrew while emphasizing the development of linguistic abilities, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to vocabulary and content from Israeli culture.
Participants will receive tasks to practice at home and will be given assignments for maximum assimilation of the material covered in class.
Preliminary requirements:
Fluent reading in Hebrew
Mastering the reading and listening comprehension of authentic texts of various types, i.e., modern literature and newspaper clippings.
Linguistic knowledge: identification of verbs of all declensions and tenses, including the imperative
In the course we will learn:
Reading and analyzing extended texts and narratives.
Hebrew speaking and understanding skills, which at this stage include the ability to communicate on a variety of topics.
Focusing mainly on enriching vocabulary and promoting speaking skills.
The materials in this course will include literary texts, modern media articles and other Hebrew texts related to life in Israel today.
Modern Hebrew literature: readings in modern Hebrew prose, poetry and drama in the original, with an emphasis on literary and social issues.
Advanced study of the language used in the Israeli media; Includes a selection of newspapers, radio and TV broadcasts.
