For Hebrew speakers beginning to read and write
This course is designed for learners who speak Hebrew but are new to reading and writing in Hebrew. Whether Hebrew is spoken at home or youโve grown up hearing it, this is your chance to build a strong foundation in literacy โ at a comfortable pace and in a supportive learning environment.
The course is taught in Hebrew and meets once a week for 45โ50 minutes. Sessions focus on developing core language skills โ including speaking, listening, reading, and writing โ through engaging, practical lessons. Learners will explore Israeli culture through songs, stories, and everyday vocabulary.
Participants will receive tasks to practice at home to support assimilation of material learned in class. The program was carefully developed and is supported by high-quality educational materials from CET (Center for Educational Technology).
In this course, weโll focus on:
Speaking & Listening: Conversational Hebrew and oral fluency
Reading: Letter recognition, reading simple words and sentences
Reading Comprehension: Vocabulary expansion through short texts
Writing: Hebrew print letters, vowels, writing words and forming simple sentences.
