For beginners with no prior Hebrew experience
This course is designed for learners who are new to Hebrew. Whether you’re starting from scratch or just recognize a few letters, this class is your gateway to learning how to speak, read, and write in Hebrew โ one step at a time.
The course is taught in a combination of Hebrew and English and meets once a week for 45โ50 minutes. Each session focuses on practical language use, with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Learners will also begin reading and writing in Hebrew, gradually building confidence in understanding and using the language. Throughout the course, students will also be exposed to vocabulary and content from Israeli culture โ including songs, stories, and traditions โ to help bring the language to life.
Students will receive tasks to practice at home to help reinforce what theyโve learned in class.
The program was carefully developed and is supported by high-quality educational materials from CET (Center for Educational Technology).
In this course, weโll focus on:
Speaking & Listening: Basic conversations and everyday vocabulary
Reading: Recognizing and reading Hebrew words
