The course will be taught in Hebrew and English and is intended for non – Hebrew-speaking students. The sessions are held once a week for 45-50 minutes and will focus on learning Hebrew while emphasizing the development of linguistic abilities, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Students will also explore vocabulary and themes from Israeli culture, with materials including songs, stories, and videos to enrich the learning experience.
The curriculum has been carefully designed and is supported by educational resources from CET (Center for Educational Technology).
Participants will receive tasks to practice at home and will be given assignments for maximum assimilation of the material covered in class.
Preliminary requirements:
The course is intended for students who know how to read sentences and short stories, and speak and write sentences in a proper structure. The students know how to conjugate verbs and adjectives, and have the ability to conduct an advanced conversation.
In the course we will learn:
Listening – improving knowledge by listening to texts.
Reading – reading texts and stories.
Writing – students will learn to write short sentences based on the vocabulary learned.
Speaking – the students will expand their ability to speak and express themselves in the Hebrew language.
Grammar – verb, singular-plural, male-female, question words.
For students interested in earning high school credits:
High school students may be eligible to earn credit toward their foreign language requirements and receive a WASC-accredited certificate.
