Ahead of Israelโs Independance Day, we invite you to join us for this 3 sessions course. The course is intended for educators in the Jewish education field, and for teachers who are interested in enriching their knowledge of the history of the State of Israel, and applying this knowledge in their classrooms.
In each meeting we will learn about a different period in Israelโs history, with an emphasis on materials and aids that can be used by the participants in teaching the subject in their classrooms.
Course topics :
- The Zionist movement before the establishment of the state of Israel: the beginnings of the Zionist movement, Herzl, the Zionist Congress and the first immigration waves to Israel.
- The establishment of the State of Israel: the end of World War II and the problem of the Jewish refugees, Ben Gurion, the United Nations Partition Plan 1947 , the declaration of the state and the war of independence.
- Israel to the present day: the Six Day War ,Yom Kippur War, economic, demographic and technological developments in Israel today.
Participants in the course will have access to all the materials and aids that will be presented in class.
The course will be taught in English.
