This course introduces educators to the rich content and international programs offered by ANU – Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, an Educational partner of IAC Ofek Hub. Each session can be run as a program in a school or community setting, or used as additional teaching tools and inspiration for educators and community leaders. Every session will highlight additional educational resources from the museum’s vast databases.
The Jewish Lens
Photography challenges Jewish youth to question and express their perception of Jewish life, values and community. In partnership with American-Israeli photographer, Zion Ozeri, this initiative combines a variety of his creative work with an engaging educational program connecting teens around the world. Today’s culture of selfies, constant uploads and visual communication come alive in the Jewish Peoplehood context, as a very easy and accessible resource in a worldwide Jewish framework.
My Family Story
Throughout the world, Jewish youth research their roots and document their heritage. Together with their families, they create remarkable artistic installations that capture the essence of their Jewish traditions, heirlooms, language and stories. The My Family Story methodology of ANU – Museum of the Jewish People provides a hands-on way of artistically sharing Jewish stories in interactive ways.
G2G: Generation to Generation
Younger and older generations are brought together in innovative ways. Engaging in mutual learning, youth and older members of the community use apps to share life experiences and upload them to the worldwide story collection at ANU – Museum of the Jewish People. Together they build closer intergenerational connections and link personal stories to the greater story of the Jewish people.
This course is suitable for educators who teach grades 5 and up.
