What is WASC Accreditation?

The WASC accreditation for second language credit gives students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to receive credit for completing a second language course at OFEK. For more info click here.

How can my child earn a high school credit?

  1. Contact your High Schoolโ€™s consular to ensure the school accepts WASC accredits courses completed through another institution or program and in what capacity (as extra credit, as replacement for second language requirements etc.)
  2. Select the appropriate* OFEK Hebrew course on OFEK website.
  3. Complete all credit course requirements
  4. At the end of the course the student will receive the transcript verifying course completion.
  5. Students will provide their primary institute OFEKโ€™s transcript to be added to the schoolโ€™s transcript as approved by the school at the beginning of the year.

My child’s school is not on the WASC directory.
Can they still earn high school credit?

Yes!

If your childโ€™s high school is accepting one of the other regional accrediting associations, they most likely would be able to transfer the credit from us – reach out to your school directly to ask about theirย credit transferย policies, requirements, and process.

Credit requirements:

  1. Attend at least 90% of classes
  2. Complete all homework assignments and submit them on time.
  3. Complete at least 3 projects and 2 assessments throughout the year.
It’s also important to note that if a student fails to meet these requirements, they will not be granted any credit.

  2. Select the appropriate* OFEK Hebrew course on OFEK website.
  3. At the end of the course the student will receive the transcript verifying course completion.
  4. The students need to submit the transcript verifying to their school, so the school can then โ€œacceptโ€ those as credit toward their foreign language graduation requirement
