  My Story

  Dana was born and raised in Jerusalem. She graduated with honors from David Yellin Teachers College in Jerusalem where she received her B.A. in Education. She earned her M.A. in Education at the American Jewish University. She previously taught English to third-sixth graders in Israeli public schools. Dana learned French and Spanish, served in the Israeli army, and received an award of excellence from the IDF for her service. Dana pioneered a new pilot program with Rabbi Melissa Buyer, utilizing an experimental distance learning teaching model and won a BJE Lainer Award in 2011. She currently teaches 3rd, 5th and 6th grade at the day school of Stephen Wise Temple where she was the Hebrew language coordinator at the religious school. Dana also teaches Hebrew at The American Jewish University – AJU – and at Los Angeles Hebrew High School.

  Dana believes that each student is an individual and has a unique gift to offer the world. She believes in teaching her students according to their own individual path and it is important for her that her students are happy and learn to think outside the box, become positive, empathetic, appreciative, creative, and self-reflecting. It is also important for Dana to pass on to her students her love and devotion to Judaism, Israel, and to Hebrew. Dana loves music and is the proud mother of Ariel and Daniel.

  הסיפור שלי

  דנה נולדה וגדלה בירושלים. היא סיימה בהצטיינות לימודי תואר ראשון במכללת דוד ילין למורים בירושלים ותואר שני בחינוך מאוניברסיטה למדעי היהדות בארה”ב- AJU.

  בעבר לימדה אנגלית בכיתות ג’ עד ו’ בבתי ספר בישראל, למדה צרפתית וספרדית, שירתה בצבא הישראלי וקיבלה פרס הצטיינות מצה”ל ביום העצמאות על שירותה.
  דנה הגיעה ללוס אנג’לס בשנת 2002 ומאז היא מלמדת עברית. היא מלאת אהבה למקצוע, ועבורה, הוראה היא שליחות. דנה כתבה תוכניות לימוד חדשניות ששמות את התלמיד במרכז. ב 2011 פיתחה מודל הוראה חדשני במחשב ללמידה מרחוק ,עליו קיבלה פרס ממשרד החינוך היהודי בלוס אנג’לס.
  דנה שימשה כרכזת העברית בתוכנית אחר הצהריים של בית הכנסת ויז בבל איר וכיום היא מלמדת בבית הספר ויז בבקרים כיתות ג’, ה’ ו -ו’. בשנת 2015 הביאה את רעיון הלמידה מרחוק גם לבית ספר תיכון עברי בלוס אנג’לס וכעת היא מלמדת שם בני נוער בימי ראשון בבוקר ובימי רביעי אחר הצהריים.
  דנה מאמינה שלכל תלמיד יש כישרון משלו להציע לעולם. היא מאמינה בהוראת תלמידיה לפי דרכם וחשוב לה לעודד בתלמידיה חשיבה מחוץ לקופסה, אמפתיה, זיקה לארץ ישראל ואהבת העברית.
  דנה מאוד אוהבת מוזיקה והיא אמא גאה לאריאל ולדניאל.
