  My Story

  Shalom! My name is Chen Biran Ilushin, and I am honored to be part of the global mission of Jewish education in Ofek.
  I was born and raised in central Israel and spent many beautiful years raising my own children in the northern village of Kfar Tavor in the north. Today, I live in Vaughan, Canada, where I continue to share my deep passion for Hebrew, Jewish History, and Mishna with students in the Diaspora.
  For the past 18 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students from elementary through high school (Grades 6–12) in a variety of subjects, including Hebrew, Jewish History, Mishna, and English as a Second Language. In addition, I work as an EdTech advisor, helping bring innovation and engagement into the classroom.
  I am a proud mother of three, a former IDF soldier and I hold an M.Ed in education. I feel incredibly fortunate to combine my love of language, Israel, and our rich heritage in my teaching. I believe learning should be meaningful, enjoyable, and driven by curiosity. I strive to create lessons that both inspire and connect, because true learning happens when students are both excited and empowered. For me, this is not just a job, but a calling.

  שלום! שמי חן בירן איליושין, ואני מרגישה כבוד גדול להיות חלק מהשליחות הגלובלית של החינוך היהודי במסגרת “אופק”.
  נולדתי וגדלתי במרכז הארץ, וביליתי שנים נפלאות בגידול ילדיי ביישוב כפר תבור שבצפון. כיום אני מתגוררת בווהן, קנדה, שם אני ממשיכה לחלוק את התשוקה העמוקה שלי לעברית, היסטוריה יהודית ומשנה עם תלמידים מהתפוצות.
  במהלך 18 השנים האחרונות הייתה לי הזכות ללמד תלמידים מבתי ספר יסודיים ועד תיכונים (כיתות ו’–י”ב) במגוון מקצועות – עברית, היסטוריה יהודית, משנה ואנגלית כשפה שנייה. בנוסף, התנסתי גם כמדריכה טכנולוגיה בחינוך (EdTech) בבתי ספר. אוהבת לשלב חדשנות ועניין בעולם ההוראה.
  אני אמא גאה לשלושה ילדים, יוצאת צה”ל, ובעלת תואר שני בחינוך (M.Ed). אני מרגישה ברת מזל לשלב את אהבתי לשפה, לישראל ולמורשת העשירה שלנו בתוך ההוראה.
  אני מאמינה שלמידה צריכה להיות משמעותית, מהנה ומונעת מתוך סקרנות. אני שואפת להעביר שיעורים המעוררים השראה ויוצרים חיבור – כי למידה אמיתית מתרחשת כשיש התלהבות ותחושת מסוגלות.
  עבורי, זו לא רק עבודה – זו שליחות.
